About the day

On this one day tour I will take you into the jungle. In the morning we will visit the Mayan family. We will learn about the many plants they use for food, medicine and to construct their homes.

See the Farm

Walking through the garden one of the Maya who live there will explain the importance of the plants. We will see how they keep Mayan Melipona Bees and how they cook great food really simply. There is more to learn about Mayan food on the Mayan Cooking Class.

Great Food

On this tour we will have a great meal prepared and served in a traditional Mayan way, before heading off to Punta Laguna Nature Reserve. If you want to know more about Mayan Cuisine, have a look at our Mayan Cooking Class, and for the more adventurous our 24h Mayan Immersion.

Spider Monkeys

We go to the Reserve to see the Monkeys. Spider Monkeys and Howling Monkeys live here. There are many other great activities to do here as well. We can take a zip line across the lagoon and then kayak back again for a different perspective of the jungle.

Cenote Calaveras

Finally we will go down into a Cenote, a water filled cave, to see the Mayan secrets inside. But not before we make a ritual offering to the lords of the underworld to allow us to safely come out again.
